A script font whose letters touch, such as Pacifico or Lobster. The name then holds together on its own and the stem stops where it meets the first and the last letter. A second word, or letters that stand apart, are joined by the stem itself, which shows between them, so the top layer is still one piece.

The bottom layer is one piece. Paint it before gluing: red under the rose, green under the leaves and the name. A paint marker or acrylic paint is enough, since only the parts that show through need colour.

With the default settings about 25 cm long with a 6 cm rose. The rose, the letters and the stem are set separately, in millimetres, inches or any other unit, and the file is cut at exactly that size.

3 mm plywood for both layers. At the smallest rose size the petal lines are under a millimetre wide, so cut small roses from good birch plywood or acrylic rather than soft wood.
